Emmilou Roessling works with sculpture, choreography and text. Her practice is concerned with issues of representation, display and perception, often striving towards forms of opacity and camouflage. Recent performance pieces include Copernicus Drift (2022) The Fraternity (2020) and Fluff (2019), presented in different contexts like WIELS Centre for Contemporary Art Brussels, Judson Church New York, Kunstverein Moabit, Sophiensaele Berlin, Impulstanz Festival Vienna, Arsenic Lausanne, Beursschouwburg Brussels, Mousonturm FFM, Uferstudios Berlin, Saasfee* Pavillon and Frankfurter Kunstverein. She studied dance and choreography in Gießen and Amsterdam, and fine arts at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main.
